Today we went orienteering and Jake, Lauren,Reece and William and I all got lost and we had to ask adults passing how we get back to the park. At about 1 we had lunch which was ham sandwich and cheese and onion crisps and a kit kat it was lovely. Then we went caving me and Megan were working together and supporting each other it was more Megan supporting me because I was petrified that I wouldn’t fit through any of the gaps in the cave. For our tea we had soup for starters and then for the main course which was roast dinner it was all home-made it was lovely.
Today, my group went through an abandoned train tunnel and then went waterfall walking. The day started going up a mountain covered in army trucks/ men. We then went into the tunnel but we were told by Nick “no torches” so we had to get sticks and as we travelled we made sure that our sticks were touching the wall. Finally after around an hour we emerged from the tunnel and were told to go back through but this time with nobody to hold on to (on our OWN). Although we went through on our own, the walk was half as long because most of us walked very quickly or in some cases ran. When we came out we had lunch and set off for the waterfall walking…
It started by getting our life jackets and waterproof tops and bottoms on then going down to the fast flowing river we were told “no splashing unless you are an adult,” so we got partly worried. We crossed the river after being splashed quite a few times then we made our way to the ‘slide’ as we call it because we slide down a few rapids. After that we made our way to a waterfall the size of a 3 story house with a baby giraffe on the top of it. We were told that we were going to slide down it but later we were told we would be dead 43 times before we reached the bottom. All we ended up doing was sliding down the rocks underneath but it was still quite fun. We got on the bus in our soaking wet clothes and had a nice warm shower when we got back!
